OVERVIEW
Horizon is UC San Diego’s immersive two-night concert experience hosted by AS Concerts and Events (ASCE), featuring live music by student talent and up-and-coming nationally touring artists. Each day spotlighted 3 artists, for a total of 6 performing artists throughout the concert series.

I led the creative direction and branding for the first ever rendition of Horizon (rebranded from Journey to the Horizon), setting the tone and structure for future Horizons. I designed all the graphics from posters, social media posts, standees, and more.

MOODBOARDS + DIRECTION
We explored a couple different options that mainly focused on themes like space, futuristic, vaporwave, and night. Ultimately, we decided on a space theme with a comet and asteroid imagery to differentiate between the two days of Horizon.

Introducing our first ever Horizon mascot, SpASCE Bear! ASCE often uses bears in their other events (namely "Bear Garden"), so we decided to bring a familiar friend into Horizon. I illustrated a full turnaround for SpASCE Bear so that we could make them 3D—shoutout to Andy for bringing the bear to life with his Blender skillz :) ! And what astronaut doesn't have their own rocket and radio?

POSTERS
I designed 4 posters, 2 for each night of the concert. The posters were printed with metallic ink.

INSTAGRAM POSTS
We kept up the comet and asteroid imagery across all our social media posts to subtly differentiate between Day 1 and Day 2 of Horizon. Event countdowns, registration, lineup reveals, and more were communicated through Instagram.
